Democratic Education Job Vacancies
Communications Intern, London
The Phoenix Education Trust, home of StudentVoice and the English Secondary Students' Association (ESSA), is looking for a communications intern.
Since its formation in 2000, Phoenix has promoted democratic education and student voice, developing ESSA which is working to become the representative body for all UK school students (www.studentvoice.co.uk). We are looking for an individual to support our work in a number of important ways, including the development and maintenance of our social networking sites and website, designing a communications plan for liaising with schools and promoting our training resources.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or school-leaver with relevant skills and experience to develop their own skills and experience work in a third sector organisation. Practical experience of website design and maintenance is preferred, and the applicant should be self-motivated and prepared to take initiative. A commitment to our values and student voice is also essential.
Expenses provided, although interns will have the opportunity to do some work from home. The successful applicant will be able to commit at least three days per week, initially for a two month period.
Closing Date: 10 October 2011
Interviews: During the week commencing 10 October 2011.
Start date: 17 October 2011.
