| International Democratic Education Conference (IDEC) |
IDEC is an annual forum for children, teachers, parents, schools, activists, individuals, organisations, government bodies and NGO's to discuss and share their ideas, concerns and experiences around democracy in education. The conference reflects the spirit and ideas of democracy that are practiced in the schools and organisations that participate in the gathering. IDEC is not dedicated to any specific system of education, but simply to the recognition that the role of the learner is central to the learning process.
