Park School was founded in September 1986, after the closure of Dartington Hall Junior School. At Park School all children are valued and encouraged to grow in their own ways. They are helped to care for each other in a family atmosphere and to value each other's qualities and differences. Knowledge is not seen as something to be delivered but as a part of life to be explored and enjoyed. Children have a voice in the school and in their education, with choices being available from the start. A weekly school meeting provides a forum for all children and staff. Anybody can put forward a matter for discussion, and the meeting may be chaired by a teacher or a child. Parents and teachers working together for the children's benefit is a vital part of the strength of the school. |
